Cíntia here 😄 As we are halfway through September, we start to see all the familiar faces coming back from vacations - with new and exciting events, regular initiatives, and incredible opportunities to share. Today, I'll keep you in the loop of all that's up and coming in the Portuguese ecosystem!

As I've shared with you in our last newsletter, 351 Portuguese Startup Association is now launching a new initiative that has been in the making for a while now. Our new 351 Workshops are a series of free educational events that will gather the community around the most interesting topics for founders and entrepreneurs.

1️⃣ We'll kick off today at 6.30 PM with a session at the Sítio - Fintech House focused on the full Entrepreneurial Journey, from idea to success. Sign up here and join us there!

2️⃣ On September 25th, at Second Home, we'll host the second event titled "Networking and Relationship Strategy: Connecting with the right people". This session will be led by Lenz Gschwendtner, a community builder, serial entrepreneur, and mentor, who will share key strategies for improving communication and building meaningful networks.

3️⃣ On October 2nd, at Le Wagon in Alvalade, join us for an insightful event on "Digital Marketing for Startups: Strategies to Build an Online Presence". In this workshop, we’ll explore the essential tactics for establishing and growing your online presence as a startup, in a session led by Victor Soares, an expert in digital marketing and online growth strategies, who will share how to effectively position your startup in today’s competitive digital landscape.

"Comités Setoriais de Turismo" is our new innovative initiative, supported by Turismo de Portugal and NEST, which will start on September 26th in Viseu!

This is a roadshow of 4 events in 4 different cities of the country, dedicated to the tourism sector in Portugal! 🚀

After the first edition in Viseu, we will host other editions in Faro (October 3rd), Porto (October 10th), and Estoril (October 17th).

The goal is to create a discussion platform between startups, companies, public and private sector entities, and associations, promoting specific and innovative solutions for the tourism challenges in the country.

Learning to code empowered him to create innovative products, from RFID wallets to smart business cards, all developed in-house. His journey shows how coding can help turn entrepreneurial ideas into reality.

Santander Portugal and 351 Portuguese Startup Association have launched the 3rd edition of the Santander X Portugal Awards 2024, offering €30,000 in prizes.

Open to startups and university projects until October 22, the competition highlights high-potential innovations across two categories: University (validation stage, €10,000) and Startup (market-ready, €20,000).

Winners will get the chance to represent Portugal at the Santander X Global Award 2024.

Altice Innovation Labs has just launched the program Altice International Innovation Award's 8th edition, intended to promote and recognize entrepreneurship and technological talent.

This innovation award will recognize entrepreneurs and startups in the incubation phase (up to 3 years) and students doing Masters or PhDs in tech-relevant areas to Altice International activities.

The iGNITE Academy by NEST is more than an ideation program. This initiative aims to discover young talents in the academic and entrepreneurial world who, with the support of mentoring sessions, can respond to the challenges of tourism in the future. 

This program is intended to be a 'funnel' for other F.I.T. programs, an initiative by Turismo de Portugal, ensuring that students and entrepreneurs already have sufficient knowledge and tools to develop their business ideas.

Discover the European project ST3ER, which aims to empower tourism-oriented SMEs, by building a more resilient and responsive ecosystem.

This initiative seeks to foster collaboration and innovation, helping the tourism industry to face current challenges and contribute to Europe's broader goals, increasing competitiveness and sustainability in the region, and creating a stronger, more interconnected network of touristic businesses.

SMEs in the tourism, media and creativity sectors can obtain up to 30 thousand euros in financing for projects that integrate innovative solutions and support the digital and green transition.
