5 new innovation spaces open their doors for the first time for the tech community to work from their offices

Date

From coworking, to impact & gaming hubs, to the private offices of Critical Software, which is hiring for more than 300 positions, this will be a unique opportunity to get to know new spaces in Portugal.

The Coworking Thursdays is a weekly initiative created in 2019 by a team of volunteers linked to the 351 Associação Portuguesa de Startups community that aims to introduce coworking spaces, hubs and tech companies to a community of entrepreneurs, digital nomads and remote workers from all industries. It is currently taking place in two cities: Lisbon and Porto.

After the Christmas break, this weekly event returns to the Portuguese capital and Porto with a renewed season in several innovative new venues that will open their doors the tech community the first time, offering participants the chance to try out their new facilities, which in some cases we would hardly be able to get to know.

01/02: UNICORN FACTORY LISBOA’S NEW GAMING HUB – LISBON

On February 1, the event will take place at the Gaming Hub, the new space dedicated to the Gaming vertical, created by the Unicorn Factory Lisbon, as part of the Lisbon City Council’s strategy to diversify the various hubs to be created in the city between 2023 and 2024. This space, located on Avenida da República, has two floors, 13 private rooms and 12 coworking spaces, and already has ten companies, such as the North American company Fortis, which occupies one of the floors, the Portuguese company ONTOP Studios, and the university student group GameDev Técnico. It also has more than 20 members who enjoy access to the community, such as Volt Games, Infinity Games and Didimo.

08/02: NEW IMPACT HUB IN PENHA DE FRANÇA – LISBON

On February 8, the Impact Hub Lisbon will host the initiative. This global coworking chain has offices in more than 100 cities and 25,000 impact entrepreneurs in its network.  With a mission to accelerate the transition to a new economy where people and the planet thrive, in Portugal the network has +700 impact entrepreneurs, +30 partners and +20 open innovation programs. The network recently inaugurated its second space in Penha de França, where the Coworking Thursdays will take place.

22/02: NEW AVILA SPACES IN PARQUE DAS NAÇÕES – LISBON

After the carnival break, it will be the turn of the Avila Spaces network, often voted as the “World’s Best Coworking chain” at the Global Startup Awards, to host the February 22 edition of Coworking Thursdays, at its new space in the Parque das Nações. These offices are home to international companies such as Intellias, Bridgestone, Lufthansa Technic, Monzantech and Zabas.

29/02: CRITICAL SOFTWARE HUB IN ENTRECAMPOS – LISBON

Critical Software, a multinational technology company, is hosting Coworking Thursdays on February 29, at its office in Lisbon. This is a unique opportunity to get to know one of the country’s largest technology companies, as it will be the first to open its doors to the outside world. The company is currently hiring more than 300 professionals in the technology sector.

29/02: NEW UNTITLED COWORKING IN PORTO

The city of Porto will also be hosting special editions of Coworking Thursdays, which will take place on  27/02 at the new Untitled Coworking, located in the heart of Porto city center with excellent access, between Jardim da Arca D’água and Quinta do Côvelo. It’s an open space that can host various companies, freelancers or even photography and video sessions.

For Valentina Mazzone, one of the leaders of the Coworking Thursdays team, “this is a unique opportunity for our participants to get to know new spaces where they can work in the city, but also renowned companies and hubs that make a difference in the entrepreneurial ecosystem, which, outside of this context, they wouldn’t have the opportunity to get to know. Some of these spaces will open their doors exclusively, as they don’t allow just anyone free access to their facilities,” she says.

We therefore invite you to take part, free of charge, in the next editions of the initiative. However, places are limited and tend to sell out very quickly, so registration is required on the Monday before each edition, at 1pm. www.coworkingthursdays.pt .
