The 351 Portuguese Startup Association has been invited to participate in the Youth Entrepreneurship Policy Academy (YEPA) organized by the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD). YEPA aims to support governments in working towards various high-level political commitments to youth in the labor market, such as the EU Youth Guarantee and the OECD Youth Recommendation.
One of the leaders of the 351 Portuguese Startup Association has been selected to participate in YEPA due to their experience in leading the association’s project, which is considered one of the most successful initiatives in Portugal. The goal is for the participant to share their experience with the Portuguese project they have been developing with over 150 international leaders.
The initiative will serve as a regular exchange network between governments, young entrepreneurs, youth entrepreneurship networks, experts, and practitioners.
According to Fernando Jardim, a leader of the association: “It will be an honor to share not only our experience as an association but also the potential of Portuguese tech talent and the ecosystem, which has increasingly attracted entrepreneurs and large companies to the country. We started as a small project, and today we are the largest startup community in the country, with over 1,200 members and 60 volunteers working on 10 national projects. Having the opportunity to learn and share best practices from this project that was born in Portugal with more than 150 international leaders is something unique, and I am excited to participate in this transformative event.”
The YEPA launch event will take place on March 9th and 10th in Brussels, with the participation of Nicolas Schmit, EU Commissioner for Jobs and Social Rights, and Yoshiki Takeuchi, OECD Deputy Secretary-General.
