This initiative is part of the Coworking Thursdays series and will take place during Lisbon Entrepreneurship Week across the spaces Poolside, Sítio Alvalade, Kübe, and Heden Alvalade, located in one of the city’s new tech hubs, within a 200-meter block in Alvalade. The coworking spaces will host 60 digital nomads and entrepreneurs, aiming to give them access to the tech communities of Alvalade, particularly in the Artificial Intelligence and Web3 sectors.

On May 16th, four coworking spaces in the city will open their doors to welcome 60 members of Lisbon’s entrepreneurial and digital nomad community. Poolside, Sítio Alvalade, Kübe, and Heden Alvalade—four tech hubs located within a 200-meter radius in the revitalized Alvalade area—will host the Coworking Thursdays initiative, created by the 351 Portuguese Startup Association and supported by various digital communities.

The goal of this project is to connect entrepreneurs and remote workers with the city’s innovation ecosystem, promoting the exchange of experiences between participants and the regular users of these coworking spaces. In this special edition, entrepreneurs will have the opportunity to connect with various tech communities, especially in the Web3 and Artificial Intelligence sectors.

In addition to working from these four coworking spaces, there will be a special program throughout the day, including yoga offered by Heden Alvalade at 9 AM, participation from Startup Portugal with their “One Stop Shop” program where entrepreneurs can schedule meetings to ask questions about navigating the Portuguese ecosystem, a tour of Lisbon Unicorn Capital through all the innovation hubs in the Alvalade area, and finally, a happy hour bringing together the entire tech scene of the area.

“The Alvalade neighborhood has been growing in support of digital projects, with new coworking and incubation spaces being established here, and it’s consolidating itself as a tech hub that hosts many of the major new Web3 and Artificial Intelligence projects. We are very excited to showcase the spaces where innovation happens to our community of digital nomads and entrepreneurs,” said Cíntia Costa, Head of Communications at the 351 Portuguese Startup Association.

This large edition of Coworking Thursdays marks the 13th Lisbon Entrepreneurship Week, also known as Unicorn Week Lisbon, promoted by the Lisbon City Council and Lisbon Unicorn Capital, with the aim of showcasing the city’s innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem. This year, especially after Lisbon was recognized as the European Capital of Innovation in 2023, the city wants to celebrate the community of experimentation and open innovation, highlighting founders, coworking spaces, startups, scaleups, tech hubs, and sustainability.

Remote workers and startup founders who wish to participate in this special edition of Coworking Thursdays must register through the project’s official website. The initiative is free, and participants can work from these spaces from 9 AM to 6 PM. Registration opens on Monday, May 13th, at 1 PM, and spots are limited to the first 60 registered participants.

Coworking Thursdays, an initiative that began in 2020 after the first wave of the pandemic, aims to connect people involved in the entrepreneurial and tech ecosystem and facilitate interaction between those with physical spaces and remote workers. Over 100 editions have been held, welcoming more than 1,000 participants in diverse spaces such as Startup Lisboa, Impact Hub, Microsoft, Critical Software, Santander, Ironhack, Le Wagon, Goethe Institute, Eureka Cowork, Smartex, the Justice Hub/Ministry of Justice at the Justice Campus, among many others.
